Supporting and developing leadership in RE and collective worship
Joining AREIAC
Membership applications are welcome from those who inspect religious or moral education and/or collective worship and/or advise outside their own school. For more about AREIAC, who we are, what we do and our core principles download a leaflet.
Membership will be open to all those who subscribe to the Statement of Principles of AREIAC (see our constitution for details), as well as to the AREIAC Code of Conduct, and who work to the Standards for CPD providers in RE and whose Religious Education leadership role and professional duties include one or more of:

Inspecting religious education and collective worship; and/or
-
Education and collective worship.and/or individual teachers within a regional or national setting in matters relating to religious Authorities (LAs), Multi Academy Trusts (MATs), diocesan education teams, schools, colleges ii) professional advisers to Standing Advisory Councils on Religious Education (SACREs), Local
-
Writing or developing materials to support curriculum development or wider professional development with an established and respected Religious Education expertise
Our members must fulfil at least one of the following:

Have an established background in RE / RVE / RWE classroom teaching (for example, QTS)

Work in paid formal advisory roles for an LA / MAT / SACRE and/or diocese

Be a RE / RVE / RWE curriculum leader and deliver regional and/or national teacher professional development or commissioned teacher support to LAs, dioceses, Initial Teacher Training programmes or MATs

Have completed the Religious Education Leadership Scholarship Programme (Culham St Gabriel’s [CStG]) or the Farmington Scholarship Programme and/or have accredited research in Religious Education pedagogy and practice.
The decision of the Executive as to whether an individual meets these criteria will be final. The executive committee reserves the right, in extremis, to remove membership from any members deemed to be in breach of the principles or who have damaged, or who are in danger of damaging, the reputation of the organisation.
There are three categories of membership for AREIAC:
All members receive the termly mailing, attend meetings and AGM, can attend webinars, have full access to the website including support and archive materials, can post details on the website for their work.

FULL MEMBER: For those working full-time as an advisor, consultant or Inspector in the area of RE and associated areas - £70pa.
ASSOCIATE MEMBER: For those working part-time as an advisor, consultant or Inspector in the area of RE and associated areas (though this could be as part of a full-time job in a related field - e.g. classroom teacher) - £35pa
RETIRED MEMBER: For those who have reached statutory retirement age (66) or who are no longer working substantially as an advisor, consultant or Inspector but wish to remain part of the community - £15pa​​​​
