Paul HOPKINS

 

Paul has being teaching and working in education for about 25 years. He was worked across primary, secondary and higher education sectors and has expertise in a range of areas. His most recent work is working with technology and technology enhanced learning. His research is around how technology can support pedagogy and how learning can be challenged by pedagogy.

 

He can support the developed of technology including Augmented and Virtual Reality as well as film and video education. He has published widely in the fields of Religious Education, Education and Technology. He is very interested at the moment in the development of online learning and eBooks (not just printed books online).

Paul currently works at the University of Hull (and nationally and internationally) and welcomes involved in projects around RE and technology - he is currently working with Culham St Gabriel's Trust on a project on RE and Emergent Technologies.

Jan McGUIRE

 

Jan is a Religious Education and Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) Consultant. As an experienced RE teacher and adviser in Religious Education Jan works as a RE Adviser supporting schools, Local Authorities and regional and national projects.

 

Jan provides training and support in all aspects of RE and SMSC including:

 

  • LA and school training for NQT’s/ teachers / RE Coordinators/ Governors

  • National and regional RE project management and collaboration 

  • RE auditing and action planning in schools

  • Coaching and mentoring of RE Teachers/Coordinators of RE/ aspiring RE national leaders

  • RE curriculum planning, assessment and support

  • Developing, writing and editing regional and national RE programmes and curriculum materials for use within the broad area of SMSC, cultural and religious diversity

  • SACRE support: Agreed Syllabus writing and curriculum development

  • Local authority support: RE Adviser

 

Jan is currently the AREIAC EXEC joint vice chair, Eastern area AREIAC representative, and SACRE adviser and RE teacher trainer for Barnet, Haringey and Ealing LA’s.
