Towards Consensus: Ensuring Space for Diverse Voices in a National Curriculum for RE
This event brings together educators, scholars and advocates to discuss how we shape a Religious Education curriculum that reflects the diversity of worldviews and personal identity in contemporary society. Through thought-provoking contributions and collaborative discussions, we’ll explore the importance of breadth in the curriculum, how media platforms are widening engagement, and learn from innovative local projects.
The conference is free for all paid-up AREIAC members, and we are hugely grateful to our speakers who have generously volunteered their time. We plan to record the conference and make the recording available on the members' area of the website.

The third joint AREIAC / AULRE conference will take place at Birmingham City University South campus (B15 3TN) with a focus on how RE / RVE / REW and RTS is changing and adapting to the needs of wider changes in education, curriculum and society.

Conference 2025: TO BOLDLY GO ...
Thursday June 26th - Friday June 27th, 2025
The second joint AREIAC / AULRE conference took place at the University of Exeter on 26th and 27th June, 2025. A large number of seminars, symposia and workshops took place over the two days as well as time for networking, conversations and just catching up.
Threaded around the idea of moving into the future, keeping in mind the curriculum review currently taking place, the conference addressed the idea of how RWE can move boldly into the future keeping in mind wider global issues as well as more local educational ones.
The conference brought together researchers, teacher educators, advisers and teachers. and those working in aligned fields such as Education Studies, Moral Education, Philosophy, Religious Studies, and Theology as well as from within Childhood and Youth studies. Delegates came from the UK and overseas.
