AREIAC: Deep Dive or Shallow Swim: From Syllabus to Classroom
Monday 6th to Tuesday 7th July, 2020
Windmill Village Hotel: Coventry

The 2020 conference will take place on 6th and 7th July 2020 at the Windmill Village Hotel, Coventry.

We do hope you will be able to join us for next year’s AREIAC Conference which is entitled ‘Deep Dive or Shallow Swim: From Syllabus to Classroom’ and will focus on curriculum development at both a national and local school level.

The Programme

Day 1 will focus on Agreed Syllabus development and aims to support advisers and consultants who might be working with SACREs as well as being valuable to Chairs of SACREs and members themselves.

Day 2 will build on this theme, with a focus on moving into school-based curriculum development and planning. We will also be exploring Ofsted’s expectations in relation to a Deep Dive in RE. This day will be valuable for all those who promote excellence in RE and we welcome teachers and others working directly with pupils.

Delegates can choose to attend both days or either one. The programme will flow from Monday to Tuesday but each day will also be valuable as a stand-alone event.

Guest speakers so far, include, Paul Smalley, Kathryn Wright, Trevor Cooling and Paula Webber and others will be announced as we develop the programme further.

The Venue:

The Windmill Village Hotel, Golf Club and Spa is set in beautiful surroundings on the outskirts of Coventry.

Our main conference space will be in The Windmill Suite, with its windows and patio doors to two sides making it beautifully light and airy. There is plenty of space for exhibition tables at one end where our refreshments will also be served. If the weather is kind to us, we will be able to stroll out onto the beautiful terrace and seating area to take our refreshments, with stunning views overlooking the golf course and lake.

For our Gala Dinner we will use the adjoining Pickford Suite with its own bar.

There is a lovely cosy Cellar Bar for Sunday evening food and drinks for those arriving that day.

With a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym, which can be used freely by delegates, this year’s venue will be a real treat. We will even have complimentary breakfast rolls for those arriving as day delegates or for those who wish to indulge in a second breakfast if you have stayed overnight!

Travel: The hotel is easily accessible by car being on the outskirts of Coventry City and has a large car park which is free of charge to delegates.
